Happy New Year!
We spent New Year's Eve with Uncle Thomas, Auntie Lisa, Adam and Annika. Even though Cupcakes was very tired, she managed to stay up and play! We welcomed the new year with chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting! Happy New Year, everyone!

Unpacking Auntie Kaori's gift
Sage
We all hung out at Auntie Helen and Uncle Aaron's place before going out for dinner. Auntie Lisa brought Cupcakes over to meet Sage. Cupcakes has never been around a cat. She "stroked" Sage, "patted' her face once and seemed to have touched Sage's nose repeatedly with her finger. Sage was good humored and stayed put. Thank you, Sage, for letting Cupcakes play with you.

Dancing Snowman
Grandma Carla sent us a dancing snowman, and it has mesmerized Cupcakes every time Mama has had it on. While the snowman is dancing, Cupcakes wants to pick him up, but then she finds herself pulling her hands back as to not interrupt his dance. She does this a couple times during every dance. She finally settles for playing with the candy canes in the snowman's pocket. One time Mama found Cupcakes hugging the snowman when she checked back with Cupcakes.
Lately Cupcakes has been loving the phone. Daddy says no playing with the phone. When he's not looking. . .

Boggle!
Gift time!
Auntie Penny and Uncle Michael gave Cupcakes the neatest gifts! She got a "cupcake" hat, a froggy that croaked songs, Ten Tiny Tedpoles book and a toy basket. Mama and Daddy got really nice gifts, too! Thank you, Auntie Penny and Uncle Michael!!
Auntie Penny tried to show Cupcakes how to open presents. Cupcakes may be opening her own presents next year.

Holiday dinner at the Kims'
Auntie Lisa and Uncle Thomas invited us over for a holiday dinner. The kids play with Adam and Annika's Sesame Street ABC set, and after a very delicious homemade dinner Adam and Annika gave Cupcakes a present. It was a large turtle that allowed Cupcakes to learn to sort shapes - fun! At the end of the evening we all played in Adam's room - lots to play with and lots of fun. Thank you, Auntie Lisa, Uncle Thomas, Adam and Annika!
