Cups and bubbles

We had bubble tea after dinner with Uncle Brady and Auntie Boo. Cups was busy watching tennis while enjoying her bubbles.

From the sequence of pictures it seems like her bao bao gesture still worked! She's definitely a baby who likes snuggling.

Cups helping

Cups is old enough to help. Mama asked Cups to pack strawberries in a ziplock bag so that Mama and Daddy can more easily bring fruit to work (and so that Mama could finish doing the dishes without Cups touching stuff in the dishwasher). Thank you, Cups. You are a good helper!

Running. . .

Running around the house is one of Cupcakes' favorite activities when her uncles come over. When the evening slows down, Cups chills with Elmo and munches a pepperoni stick.

Cups in the neighborhood

Cups, did you wear your pajamas to school today? She walked up the stairs to the library and returned a video for Daddy. She snacked on a banana after we visited the Metropolitan Market.

Teacher Christa's good-bye party

We stopped by the good-bye party for Teacher Christa (at a bar) before heading to Cé Fiore for frozen yogurt with ahgong and ahma. The bar is dog friendly but not kids friendly.

BBQ in the parking lot at Daddy's work

Auntie Arlene organized an awesome BBQ in the parking lot at Daddy's work. Thank you, Auntie Arlene. We had a great time!

Cupcakes for Teacher Christa

Cups kept daddy company while he baked cupcakes for Teacher Christa, whose last day was Friday. Big chatted with Daddy while she watched.

Cups' new rain coat

Auntie Karen helped Mama find this good deal at Gymboree in Pheonix when they were there for training for work. Cups likes the coat and looks adorable in it! The velcro makes it super easy to put on.

All done!

That's what Cups says when she's finished. Cups had some golden kiwi for breakfast.

Second day at Danskin Triathlon

To help ensure that her chance of getting into a good college, Mama has been scheduling Cupcakes to volunteer since she was zero — even if she just slept in the stroller the whole time.

Mama signed us up for two days of volunteering. She wasn't so sure when she found out that we would have to be there by 5:30am on the day of the event. We got there. It was so dark that Mama almost parked on the soccer field. It was a good thing that Daddy could see because there was a soccer game when it was time to go home.
Mama signed up to work at the water station. Little did she know all the work that involved. The team got ice to put in the buckets, put the water bottles in there and put the bottles out on the table when the athletes started crossing the finish line. (When it was time to get busy, Cupcakes sat herself in the stroller and took a nap good girl!) It was a lot of manual work through noon. Mama felt good. She was confident that Daddy had easy jobs and was having a great time chatting with people. Mama was right! She was really tired by noon but felt good for all her work.

When we got home, ahgong and ahma had lunch ready for us. We visited for a little bit before it was nap time for the family. Ahgong and ahma helped weed and trim plants in the garden. Thank you very much!!

Mmmm. . .Dove chocolate

Daddy volunteering and Cups playing

We signed up to volunteer for the Danskin Triathlon for the third time. Cups was a trooper. She stayed engaged, watching Daddy and Mama mark numbers on people's arms and helping hand out tank tops and swim caps for the whole afternoon. She walked around, checking out the vendors with Mama when we had a break. Finally when she fell asleep, she slept hard through Red Mango (frozen yogurt) and all. Thank you for volunteering, Cups!

Cups got her first pair of real Crocs — the pink shoes on her at the end of the day. (She's now big enough that Mama asks her to try them on, walk around in them and observe for any kind of reaction before breaking out her credit card.)
