Cups napping in her big bed

Since nap time is a ritual at daycare, Cups doesn't have trouble falling asleep on her own in her big bed. Daddy wanted Mama to see this.

Cups' big bed

Daddy helped Cups get ready for bed. You see Giraffe and fairy door behind them. (Mama asked Cups whether fairies come through there, and she intuitively told Mama to see for herself.)

Cups in her big bed for the first time. . .

We got Cups' a twin mattress. She liked it! She's slept in it most of the time by herself ever since she got the big bed.

She picked out cream sheets herself. Really, Cups?! She pushed away pink.

A couple weeks later when Auntie Lisa asked whether she got a new bed, Cups nodded with enthusiasm.

When we called Uncle Scott to wish him a happy birthday, he asked Cups, "What's new?" Without being prompted, she answered, "I got a new bed."

Our tiny surely is growing fast.

Bigs is eating watermelon.

Mama has been trying to get Cups to eat watermelon for about a year now. Mama changed her presentation and put half a watermelon on the table with a spoon for Cups. She liked it and ate quite a bit. Of course Mama learned that Cups can look busy eating and not necessarily have consumed much. She's been eating watermelon since. Mama would like Cups to like papaya, too1

Yikes, another snow day in late February!

Cupcake surprise

Cupcakes received a surprise gift from Auntie Erin. The little T-shirt has a little cupcake on it with glittering frosting — super cute. Cupcakes liked the cupcake pins a lot. She is one spoiled baby. Thank you very much, Auntie Erin!

It's heartwarming for Mama to see Cups hang out with some of the Raleigh boys.

Daddy with Baby Elizabeth

Daddy got to watch Baby Elizabeth for a little bit on his own. He took her on the back porch for a little vitamin D. Uhhh. . .we hope that was okay with Auntie Tonya.

Story time: Hedgehog

Story time in the Zoomazium about hedgehogs. . .

The children got a chance to see and pet one. Cups waited in line and said no to petting. We watched the other children pet. Last week Mama was surprised that Cups petted a gecko!

Cups enjoyed riding the elephant's trunk.

The zoo is on the way home from Cup's Chinese class Saturday mornings. This was our second visit to the zoo.

Auntie Monica's going away party

Auntie Monica is moving to Texas. Cups borrows auntie's cowboy hat for the picture. We are going to miss you, auntie!

Auntie Arlene observed that Cups has been growing fast and suggested that Mama and Daddy give Cups coffee to stunt her growth. We'll be kind and try coffee ice cream.

President's Day at Pike Place Market

Cups watched as cheese curds were being formed at Beecher's in the Market. She also had a sample afterward. The lady enjoyed watching Cups being careful as she nibbled on the sample. When she was done, she told Mama, "Try some." (On a regular basis she also offers to share her food before she's done.)

Cups said, "Mmmm. . ." when she found out that it was chocolate (with a cherry inside from Chukar Cherries).

Cups still enjoying her chocolate with fruits in the background. . .

Daycare was closed, so Mama took the day off to spend with Cups. Cups had her worst cold yet over the weekend. She had fevers two consecutive nights. She was warmer than usual for the following two nights. The last two nights she coughed throughout the night. She spent the whole day in Mama's arms or lap. Then she dozed on and off in Mama's lap in the evening. She seems a lot better Tuesday morning!!

She had chiropractic adjustments from Dr. Thomas and Dr. Graham. She had accupressure from Auntie Boo, and she had Reiki treatments from Mama. Auntie Lisa provided tips on naturopathic medicine and Mama with emotional support. (Mama was a little freaked out since Cups had not been this sick before.) Cups had a lot of natural medicine support, and we appreciated everyone! Thank you for being there for us!!

Mae's

Mae's is in a lot of magazines for its breakfast food and cows. We had to check it out ourselves.

Cups' first Sunday school

Auntie Eunice led Naomi and Cups in worship. (Mama thinks she might have missed a bible story while she used the restroom.) Then the girls had craft time, playing with crayons, stickers and googly eyes. Thank you, Aunties Eunice and Esther!

Cups at the zoo

Mama posts a picture of Cups at the zoo here for you. For pictures of zoo animals, please go to the zoo. She's getting so big!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Where to celebrate Valentine's Day than at a chocolate factory? Mama took Daddy to Theo's for the new dark chocolate bars as a surprise. We had a lot of samples that day — yummy.

Two clean cutes

The twins had a chance to play and bathe together on Valentine's Day. Thank you, Auntie Lisa, for cleaning Cups!!

The day before V Day

Auntie Boo and Cups. . .

Cups and Mama. . .

Auntie Boo and Uncle Brady went to CĂ©Fiore for the first time, and we tried the new flavor — chocolate frozen yogurt. Cups had a fever then and didn't eat much. We'll have to make it up to her.

Light snow in February

Daddy and Mama found Cups feeling with her fingers for snow on the deck even a few days afterward — funny baby.

Cups' introduction to hail

We went to Burger Madness, a relatively new joint next to Costco on 4th Avenue, for dinner. While we were waiting for our order, Mama noticed that it was hailing outside. Cups and Mama went out to see hail.

What is this?

Cups and Mama held out hands out and caught some. (The brown patch on her pants showed that she did a good job playing out in the yard this afternoon. Did you fall, Cups?)

Dinner was delicious. We'll be back.

On the way in the house, Cups picked up some hail/mix of snow and rain and tasted it.

While we were asleep. . .

We got a little snow. Are we done yet?

The third picture was taken at Marji's house. This tree is in Marji's backyard where the kids play most every afternoon.
