Cupcakes' two-week notice

Daycare gave us their two-week notice on Monday. Cupcakes' last day there would be July 31. Mama knew that was coming the previous week, so she had been very stressed out and calling to find another place for Cupcakes. Cupcakes and Mama had visited two home daycares, too.

Just recently Mama was told that Cupcakes had been screaming a lot and that teachers have had to take Tylenol for their headaches from her screaming. That was news to Mama if this had been going on for a while. Mama had suspected that something was up about three weeks ago after a month of reports of Cupcakes' increased crying and decreased milk consumption. Even though Cupcakes was all smiles when we checked out her current daycare at the very beginning, Mama felt like it was deja vu when she received the two-week notice. She clearly remembered asking whether they ever asked babies that cried too much to leave. Perhaps Cupcakes was already not liking it there the first month when it seemed as if she was still getting used to the place.

This week Cupcakes cried all day Monday and all afternoon Tuesday. Tuesday evening Mama decided that Cupcakes was not going back to daycare if she could help it. Ah-gong and ah-ma were more than generous to offer to take care of Cupcakes full-time until Daddy and Mama can find new care for Cupcakes. During this time many of you whom Mama has reached out to have offered great suggestions and tremendous emotional support. I appreciate you very much!

Cupcakes has carried over the screaming for the first time at home this week. She's always been so sweet and never cried much or loudly. Hopefully over time she will feel emotionally safe and revert to her calmer behaviors.

Thank you, Auntie Angela and Uncle Steve, for the cute outfit. Cupcakes just grew into the onesie top, but the pants are already very broken in, hee.
