Mike's Pastry

Cups sure enjoyed the pistachio gelato from Mike's Pastry — no allergies to pistachio, or nothing that Mama can remember.

Cups had a "honey boy" while having her diaper changed. (Honey boy consisted of two cookies shaped liked little men with some frosting in the middle.) Cups liked it!

Cannoli. . .

We broke many rules. Cups ate while getting her diaper changed. Mama ate in bed. We are on vacation after all!

On the way to the hotel for a nap

But got side tracked and went to Mike's Pastry first. Uncle Michael, Auntie Penny, Uncle Eric and just about everyone else had told us about the famous Mike's Pastry and also Modern. Those were our must stops. On the way back to the hotel for a nap, we realized that we were in the vicinity of Little Italy. We detoured. . .

We passed by an art fair on the way. Thank you for the locals that pointed us in the right direction to Mike's Pastry.

Faneuil Hall

First things first: shopping. Mama got a lobster cup for Cups and Boston Tea Party tea for work.

Quincy Market

Mama wanted to go to the Quincy Market first since ahma had called a few years back from there as a stop on their cruise from New York to Quebec and told Mama that she would love it there. Quincy Market had a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits.

On the way to the market

au bon pain

We went to Boston for pastries. What did we see in the window of Au Bon Pain a couple blocks away from the hotel? Pastries! We stopped and got a chocolate croissant. It was all right. Cups didn't want any. (At Bakery Nouveau she'd just have the chocolate stick on top of the chocolate croissant. If it's not chocolate chocolate, she can pass.) We learned later all the stores in the chain were very nice about selling us (bulk) milk (instead of out of a bottle in the fridge) and warming it up for us in the microwave for about a dollar — nice and convenient!

Complimentary map and apple

Uncle Eric got us a family discount at The Liberty Hotel. It was a super nice place. Cups had a bite of one of their complimentary apples. We started exploring the city shortly after we checked into the hotel early Saturday morning.

Train station

Mama and Daddy couldn't imagine traveling with more than one kid. It was hard to find some of the elevators in some of the train stations, and Mama and Daddy ended up carrying Cups up the stairs in the stroller. Even when we could find elevators, they smelled like pee. During the trip we learned that Cups appreciated elevators more than escalators.

Girls at Bakery Nouveau

It took a while, but Cups warmed up to her aunties! Thank you for sharing your chocolate chip cookie, Auntie Lu, providing Cups with her second wind.

Uncle Michael counted with Cups, and she had a blast playing with uncle's poker chips! Thank you for sharing, Uncle Michael!
