We adopted a street through Seattle Public Utilities' Adopt-A-Street program. Team Cupcakes received a post card about picking up supplies to help with the Adopt-A-Drain program. Cups and Mama set out early one Saturday morning to pick up a couple rakes. When we got there, the person asked how many bags we'd want. Mama said, "I am here to pick up only rakes. I thought we'd only have to rake the leaves to the side." Seriously, I can rake the leaves up onto the sidewalk if necessary. When we left the SPU warehouse, our trunk was loaded with gloves, rakes (one for Cups), a shovel, 10 bags and 3 safety vests.
Daddy picked the night before the rain storms came, and we set out for the neighborhood after dinner.
Cups helps with raking.
Cups helps hold the bag open for Daddy. She was also very helpful with carrying our stash of bags down the block.
Cups takes a minute to smile for the camera.
The bus came by but didn't stop for the bags.
Daddy went out with the car to pick up the bags after we got home. During the month of November, extra garbage pick-up is supposedly free. Let's hope so. We felt good that night. Cups woke up the next morning telling Daddy, "No more raking leaves. I am tired."
Thank you for the good spirit, Team Cups!
