Happy New Year, Auntie Elizabeth!
Auntie Elizabeth actually had time for us!
Cups is spoiled in more than one way.
Auntie Elizabeth got Cups a seahorse and a hat from the Omaha Zoo.
The hat has butterflies on it, and Cups looks good in it.
Awww. . .
The hat even fit Daddy.
Now we were just getting goofy, but Auntie was in on it!
It was getting late, haha!
Auntie has always been super thoughtful. For the last two years, whenever we got together, she had fresh baked goods for us. This was Mama's thank-you note to Auntie for the chocolate chip with dried cherries cookies and molasses cookies: We gobbled up the cookies in a couple of days. I personally was surprised that they lasted that long. Chris and Eric came over one night, and I said to John, "Please offer them some cookies; otherwise they'll all end up in our stomachs." They each had one, and we "managed" to inhale the delicious cookies in no time. Good things are meant to be savored, but we are not very patient people when it comes to desserts. Have I shared that Cups said (regarding trying new foods), "If I don't try, my parents will eat all." Don't sit too close to us around cakes; it's embarrassing. Wait, you have! (She's seen us at our worst, and she's still our friend, awww.)
