Theo Chocolate tour with Auntie Elizabeth

Daddy and Cupcakes smiled at each other with hair nets on at the Theo Chocolate store front.

Mama posed for a picture with Cupcakes. UHZ got a parking spot right outside the door.

Auntie Elizabeth, Daddy and Cupcakes sat on the "bed" (hardwood), waiting for the tour to begin.

The tour began with some "confection." Daddy got up with excitement for his fig fennel sample. There was also cinnamon coffee. Last time Auntie Jacque and Mama tries lemon and basil.

Daddy and Mama smiled to see Cupcakes paying close attention to the talk about chocolates.

Cupcakes got a hold of a cocoa bean. Last time she spilled the beans onto the floor.

Cupcakes stood up next to Auntie Elizabeth while enjoying a cocoa bean in her mouth despite the tour guide's advice not to put it in the mouth. The bean came out with a chunk missing. Daddy tasted it when Mama handed him the gooey blob. He said that it tasted like the nibs.

For quality control Theo cuts the beans in half. They look to make sure that the beans are brown (not purple, moldy or bug-infested) and crumble at the fingertips. This looks like a healthy batch.

Smile - a picture of everyone in hair nets!

Daddy and Cupcakes checked out the machine that "cleaned" the cocoa beans.

Auntie Elizabeth, sampling nibs (crushed toasted cocoa beans), was all smiles on the tour. She was in heaven with the chocolate aroma and warmth of the room. The warm air is perfect for this chilly winter weather but too hot for the summer. What?! They sell cocoa shells as bark, and it smells like chocolate in the room every time you water the plants!! We'll get you some for your balcony garden, Auntie Elizabeth!

There were a lot of kids on the tour. The one with the orange and gray on in the front asked a lot of good questions. He even asked whether chocolate was all that good for you with the sugar in it - very conscious of his diet.

Cupcakes is done with the hair net. Good job keeping it on the whole time, Cupcakes! Cupcakes wouldn't have anything to do with it this summer when she went on the tour with Auntie Jacque and Mama.

To wrap up the tour Cupcakes practiced her skills drinking from a cup. We'll go out to the front for more samples now.
