Baby and Mama

Many many people have told me that Cupcakes looks like me in pictures, and many have said that she looks like John in person. (I win with many many because more of you have seen her in pictures than in person.) For fun I decided to throw out my pride and post these just-out-of-the-bed pictures of Cupcakes and me to see if you still think that we look alike.

The last couple of days Cupcakes has been nursing more often during the day and wanting to be held more. She is either a little bit under the weather, which I don't think so. Or maybe she is growing, and I haven't kept the house warm enough. (Babies are smart. They ask to be held when the environment is not as warm as they like it.) There is always the uncertainty with babies since they can't talk. It's now 6:30pm, and she's gotten herself back on the feeding schedule - amazing. It's fun to watch her sleep, and it's heart-warming to have her snuggle up on me.

Today is one sad day. I found out that Cupcakes did not make it in the daycare at the WaMu Tower for April. I called other daycares, and some have a two-year waiting list. Writing about this now gave me the idea that maybe she can make it in for May. I shall call and find out tomorrow. The home daycare in West Seattle wouldn't take her until 5/3 anyhow. I'd love the convenience of taking her in on the bus with me and picking her up on the way home. This may not be sad after all. I admit that I've been a little stressed about this all day.

On Monday Cupcakes found the two bows on each side of her chest that have been on these sleepers since four weeks ago. She held and felt it as she nursed, depending on which side she had a free hand - growing everyday!
