We tried the bottle again.

Yay - Cupcakes' second allergy rash is gone this morning! I am still figuring out what she is allergic to that I consume.

Cupcakes tried the bottle again before she was too hungry this morning. She drank about 10cc, and another 10cc dribbled. She was a good sport and even smiled at the beginning. Somewhere in the middle she questioned, "Evil Stepmother, what have you done with my mama and her booboos?" We stopped when she started crying. I tried to encourage her by telling her that she would need to learn for daycare days. She is still having a difficult time taking the bottle, but she looked cute in her new outfit with a matching bib and a cute bunny on her back. (She used to think that it was feeding time when I poked her cheek with my nose. Now she ignores me because she knows it's just my nose poking her cheek.)

Now that she can hold her neck, she is learning to stand with help. She can now stand on her own for 3-4 seconds (with spotting). She can also roll halfway - bad news for mama.

By noon I've changed her diaper once, fed her, read to her and held her. This is essentially all that I do during the day. I asked myself this morning how this has not gotten old. She's now seven weeks old, and I've taken care of her on my own for four weeks. It hasn't yet! With a more developed digestive system I haven't had to burp much this week, freeing up time for me to surf the web, nap and create/maintain the lifeofthecupcakes blog.

We are working on securing her a daycare spot, checking out a home daycare in West Seattle and checking for availability with the YMCA daycare in the WaMu Tower. (We are #2 on the waiting list for April! Cupcakes will get in if the other person doesn't want the spot anymore.) We are ultimately hoping to have a spot downtown to make drop-off and pick-up easy.
